Environmental Data Scientist with wide ranging experience is spheres of numerical modelling, data analysis, machine learning, project management, marine/ coastal ecosystem management

I had a long career in the Indian Navy spanning two decades as an operations officer with specialization in meteorology & oceanography. I have held various appointments including command of different units/ formations of the Navy. My work consisted of analyzing environmental data, applying machine learning and running regional numerical models on a daily basis to predict environmental conditions for planning military operations. My work experience spanned across the fields of aviation meteorology, nowcasting, environmental data analysis, numerical modeling, machine learning, administrative, project management and leadership. My operational experience convinced me that machine learning will bring a technological revolution in earth system science. This motivated me to take a mid-career break and pursue a PhD program in the intersection of environmental science and machine learning.
